$6,000 more in squash equipment collected
Sports Trinity has collected more than $6,000 in additional squash equipment, building on the $15,000 delivery that first took our work overseas and bringing our total contribution past $31,000 in donated gear.
What came in
This collection focused specifically on squash: rackets, balls, court shoes, and protective eyewear. Squash is one of the most equipment-dependent sports a child can pick up, and one of the least accessible because of it. A single decent racket can cost more than a family is able to spend on a sport their child has never tried.
Every item was sorted and inspected before being counted. Rackets were checked for cracked frames and restrung where the stringing had gone. Protective eyewear was assessed carefully, since damaged eye protection is worse than none at all, and replaced rather than passed on where there was any doubt.
Why squash
Squash rewards persistence over physical size, it can be played year-round indoors, and it has a well-established record of opening academic and athletic doors for students who take it seriously.
It is also almost entirely inaccessible without equipment. There is no version of squash a child can play with borrowed improvisation the way they might with a soccer ball. Removing the equipment barrier is close to the whole problem.
Where it is going
This equipment is being distributed through the school and youth-program relationships we have built across New Jersey, alongside the international deliveries that have become a growing part of our work.
Our priority is programs where equipment is the specific thing standing between a child and the chance to play, and where a delivery from us means a program can actually run.
